return of randomania ...

in with the good ... out with the bad

  1. i'm pretty solid with temps that run low. but, the pipes are busted in our century old frickin' building and i have to admit ... working in a place that's hovering around 50 degrees is becoming tough.

the other kids have brought in little space heater doodads to keep their tushies n' toes warm against the coastal morning chill. but, the damn things overload the building's spinal cord and every 30 minutes, or so, somebody kicks on a pot of tea and blows out my office.

    saves, every 5 minutes.

  2. last night, at the local winery ... looking for something called cointreau for the margaritas my honey is going to swivel up.

me: yeah, i'm looking for some orangey-flavored alchy-hol thing for margaritas.

    him: triple-sec.

me: well, i thought she said something like con-trow, or coin-tree ...

    him: triple-sec.

me: ok, ok ... look, will it make me drunk?

him: yeah - trust me, if you want an authentic margarita ... this is what you need.

oy ~ 22 year-old white boy telling me how to make an authentic margarita.

    That's so hot.

  3. San Bruno Hill Climb ... my own little bit of tradition. Every year I've been on the left coast and every year they've run the thing ~ I've done this race.

I love how hell-ass goofy the thing is ... mass start hill climb in chill, rainy weather with half the field still hung-over (the other half still drunk). It's short, it's painful, it's my way of ringing in the new year.

    Can't wait.

  4. Clean racers are dope.

Cointreau = classy Triple Sec

or

Triple Sec = cheap Cointreau

either way, it's getting blended in with tequila, limes, etc. so who's going to know the difference?

bonus tip:

add an egg white to your margs for extra goodness.

a floater of cointreau = top shelf goodness.

Cointreau...mmm...blend that with a dash of vanilla ice cream & you've got a boozy creamsicle that'll make you forget the tequila.

an eggwhite?

like, just floating there on the ice cubes?

ewwwwww....

PAB(a.k.a.CID) said...

gotta make a request: no egg whites in mine, please.

put extra tequila instead...

VeloRainDog said...

okay, so i forgot to stipulate: blended.

creamier, frothier, yummier

isn't it dangerous to eat raw eggs?

EB said...

I don't know if you can call anything soaked in tequila "raw." At least not in the uncooked sense.

1. i can relate. i'm hoping this is the first winter our thermostat doesn't die at work in the middle of a snowstorm. it's better if the power goes out cuz then it's time to go home...

2. raw egg whites = salmonella

sorry, i'm at work

the ice cream that the panda suggests would be just fine, thanks

3. blah, blah, blah...i'm not listening...

4. nothing to add here, but i couldn't just number 1-3 and not have a 4

I say go for the mexican nightmares..

"mexican nightmare"

that's what they used to call me back in 'nam.

Brent said...

i thought it was the "mexican sweats" like the ones you get from eating raw food in Mexico.

I'll take mine on the rocks with something sweet and red minus the egg. Rim can be salted lightly, and some tequila infused pineapple slices is a good treat for it too.

If you add ice cream isn't that called a frappachino deluxe?

Powered by Patron Sliver, no lime, no salt.. just Tequlia goodness. If it doesn't kill you you'll be stronger,,, right?

But if it's Rita time, Con roca no salt + Cointreau. Triple Sec too sweet for me.... Grasias

I'm thirsty..........

grand marnier for an extra kick -not blended - on the rocks with salt...

Will any of these margaritas be at the top of the hill on new years morning? Could've used one last year.

Ippoc Amic said...

can we have breakfast after the hill climb?

norcalcyclingnews.com said...

YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

trust me, it's fun.

when you're back in the warm cars, after.

breakfast on me.

Velo Bella said...

I might just leave my breakfast all over that hill

PAB(a.k.a.CID) said...

i sure as hell left a little of something on top of that hill last year.

you all realize, don't you, that olaf is manipulating you all into doing something totally insane...

uh, like he did to us last year...

sicko.

i did like getting flair put on me, though. pretty sure that was my first flair...
