New Elite P1/2 Team looking for riders ~

Got wind of a little scoop. There's a new NorCal Team forming and they are going to be recruiting riders in the coming weeks. They are very interested in adding some young riders so be sure to spread the word to any you know that might be looking for a decently funded squad.

Interested riders can send their intro letter and resume to raceteam2008@hotmail.com

the leak asked me to keep it all anonymous until they do their own gig of announcing.

cool.

Women's Teams for 2008 ~

I've been forced to sit on some hugely juicy gossip regarding next year's scene for la femmes ... and it's killing me.

suffice to say that the Women's racing scene in NorCal is getting more and more vibrant and marketable.

take note, boys, of how these teams are doing the right things. they work hard at this shit.

Last hacks at the Track ~

I can't believe i'm going to miss this week's Nolan-ator Thursday Nite Points Races (ncva board meeting scheduled ... darg). I might be able to make Friday ... but that will depend on how much sweet talk i can slip into Sabine, cuz' we've got a long-ass drive to the Sierras to deal with.

And then we're going to InterBike next Wed thru Fri so that Sabine can pick up an Award given for all her work in Women's cycling ~ so, we'll miss the final Thursday ... but, maybe i can convince her to play at the final Friday romp.

ah... InterBike. I'm going to applaud my woman, but i'm also going so i can make a menace of myself at CrossVegas. i plan on heckling all the supahstahs in my Sheila Moon attire all nite long.

Sabine just always sounds too cute in her interviews.
I guess its cause I know her.
Congrats Sabine!

i was perusing the weather forcasts for the next few days. Wet track, unlike a RR or crit, = no racey. At the very least people might get to experience the wind from the opposite direction that it normally blows there....that'd be interesting...

as for friday...get your behinds up there or i swear i'll start drinkin without ya....

oh, does this mean you were elected?

me = painfully slow

i don't know if i was elected, but wanted to go either way to try and get a word in about helping next year with race promotion.

When are U and pab going 2 announce the nazi-style bag-boy take over of VOS? Bringing Sasser the OJ deer killer with U. Spinemorgy vs VO-SS should be fun to watch, much like Auschwitz was fun for the Germans.

Voted for you for track BOD. Hope you can get the path built from the lounging area to the warm up circle. If lots of cash were available a bridge (or tunnel) over the track would be great, along with an upgraded PA system and brighter bulbs for the lights. Less expensively an outside food (taco wagon) vendor might bring more spectators to Friday nights.

Yesterday morning at the track it was a headwind on the home straight and tailwind on the back straight, which is a bit opposite of normal.

I'm all for brighter lights at Hellyer. It was nice to race under the bright lights at T-Town - it really reinforced how dim our lights are. At least we have lights, so maybe there are other priorities to be addressed. The trick is to be able to use the lights we have more often.

A: I've been sitting on the same Women's Pro Team info that you have... great stuff. I wish us SoCal racers/teams had our team cycling as dialed in as y'all NoCal'ers

B: Mad props to the NoCal (and all Cali racers for that matter... Olds and Miller come to mind) that have had wicked sick seasons over the past seven months.

C: Thanks mucho, mucho, mucho for your blog (I've been lurking for months)... You are one of the loudest online voices for creating posts pertaining to thing I love most: bike racing... women's racing in particular. I love and share your passion.
Wish we had one of you down here. I might become that guy.

See you in Vegas. Come say hi at the Cyfac/ITM booth near Giro. I'm sure I'll see you at Cross Vegas (beer in hand), Crit Champs (more beer in hand), and most likely some other nefarious nighttime shenanigans.
