the troubles
found out today that there is no track racing this week ...
stupid national holidays.
i am so addicted to the track.

i have GOT to get a hooptier rig for the Hellyer'Drome.
jayzus f'in christ ...
looks like somebody dropped a shiny turd on a stick of yellow linoleum.

i did the Madison with Lawrence "el big rig" Nolan last Friday nite. This might have been the only case of a Madison race where the best exchange possible (mine, that is), still had the other dude slowing down (him, obviously ... 'cuz when he threw me? i didn't have to pedal for half a lap).
Nolan is a big, F Truck of an individual.
and i am a delicate little lotus blossom.
it was sad.
but man, can that dude pedal a gawdam bike.

The real trackies were pretty sweet to watch. The masters racing was very cool and I dug how the chicks entered their race and made them all chase skirts.
and the junior racing was ... wonderful.
cute overload, and just what the doctor ordered.

Tell paul you will wear his jersey at the track...
He makes a sick easton taperwall custom......
and I may save your friday night, still haven't decided if I am feeling charitable enough yet, but I may.....
Damnit, my dad got all excited this weekend when I told him about the velodrome. We were gonna come out and see the show and watch people zing by at 40 mph. I guess we'll have to do it some other time.
don't tease, JAndy.
Hard to top the fun at the velodrome if you're a bike racer or fan.
I know Wednesday is July 4th. What's up with Friday night?
good to see kick down some dough for that sanjoser membership... about time.
what with people going up and down the track and passing eachother and you throwing larry backwards instead of forward
we fans had no idea what was going on
or maybe that was the wine
but it sure was fun to watch!
Friday: Promoter will be at Alpenrose with a bunch of other Hellyerites.

We need JAndy out there racing with us soon. Very cool if he steps up and promotes.
I thought Larry was gonna throw Michael up and out of the track
Maybe it would be good to support the teams sponsor and purchase their product for the veledrome.
safeway has track stuff now?
they have wine and cheese
My right arm (and teet) is sore from the Madison. Started cramping on me yesterday. That is why Wire beat me.... ;)
Really, the boy had a killer second kick and I was not roll'n up on him fast enought to deal with that. Deserved win!
J/A - host on Friday and you get to see all of us old guys in spandex...
Oh and I forgot to mention.....
my first Madison was with someone twice my size...
my arm almost stop working in the week following that race.....
Wait until Wednesday and update us on the arm......
Michael- you were a rock star on Friday night. I loved watching your transformation from our warm-up ("no way am I doing this") to our first attempt ("let's not start at the back again") to the finale ("let's attack!"). Obviously you're a fast learner!
We even had that handslinger thing going on and that view of the almost full moon made the whole night.
Maybe we can use some of the upcoming Thursday Night track nights to practice more Madison riding? (Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23 and Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27)
Thanks again for the good times. Diesel
My first madison was with Peter Allen. We're driving to the track and just decided to do it. Called Larry and he told us ten things we needed to know for a madison. We remembered about six. 400 pounds of beef locked up in a handsling... Incoming!
Hernando paid his money to do match sprints at AVC... sans handslings!
