it's still monday?
Well, it looks like some of the VAC and PROMAN chickas are going to double up and race both the NRC Cougar Crit in the morning, then the Carrera de San Rafael in the afternoon.
can i hear a 'hayle-yeah,' brothas n' sistahs.
I'm scheduled to be the colored announcer for San Rafael ... which i think is fair, because Fries is about as white as a guy can get. So, i'll be the brown dude cleaning the portos and ocassionally looking up to identify one of the locals at a thousand meters.
But, i might be able to squeak in some time to gossip with Casey for the early races. We were gonna work some nerdy geektalk at Vacaville this weekend but i bailed out on him to lay in bed with the woman.
i know, go figure.
Anyway, bring the foam fingers to San Rafael this weekend and give me the middle one as i stink up the joint with my high-pitched girly squawks.
but, it's gonna be a party folks. as Promoter Wil says ~
six cases of wine, awesome Thai food, and Just Dessert's Brownie Bites await. The expo has 35 booths. Something for everyone.
uh ... you had me at cases.

still waiting for the latest PEZ dirty-diary thingie from the VAC lovelies. I'll just say it, they are the only reason i ever even look at that website. It's slow and clunky and about as fresh as my lunch ride chamois.
but i like me them pi'tures ... mmm hmmm.

of course i'm a CN loyalist. the aussies know how to keep it real and alive, spreading the 2-wheeled gospel around the world with an egalitarian flair.
i hope them buggers make 6 figures a piece. they do damn good work.
the latest Green Goddess writings are up about Montreal.
... mee-ow.

hey can you please talk with a little deeper voice when you do your color announcing? you either sound like a 3rd grade student who has sucked on helium, or you simply sound like a girl when you talk. i was at a race before and i thought both you and casey k. were a pair of female announcers, but when i saw you behind the nike i was shocked. just talk with a little deeper voice if possible, it is annoying how it has been in the past, especially when you try and act like you know what your talking about. try and be professional please if you are going to go behind the mike, mike
Yeah! Pick up your game if you want all the fame!

... but darling, i've never announced with Casey before. was this a dream, perhaps? did you need to change the sheets after?
don't worry, sweet one, i'll be gentle with you and whisper only the softest, most sultry little nothings into your ear.
and trust me, there will be something that is deep.
You comin' to Davis? Better water that flower - it's gonna be HOT.
And what's that Carrera course like?
yup, i'll be wilting at Davis.
no idea what Carrera is like, though. heard it's a bit of a classic.
Spoken in the deepest, manliest voice possible: "Ouch!"
Oh yeah, ya'll not goin' to Natz?
You'd slay 'em.
i bailed out on him to lay in bed with the woman
As it should be. Priorities!
Yeah geuss it was a wet dream, sorry!
Oh man, found out this morning that CyclingNews.com was sold! 2.2 million English pounds. Not too bad.....but I hope the coverage stays the same.
who bought it, chico?
Mikey is by far the best announcer you will ever hear, it's too bad he's so nice and that you didn't post your name, because he probably knows more about you than you do, you anonymous little bitch. And Casey doesn't announce, he recites.
The Carrera course is one of the best, if not the best, in Norcal. It's a little short, but that is part of what makes it so much fun.
Swoopy turns are bitchen', dude.
Some company called FUTURE or something along those lines. They own some other bikey websites. Now I can't find where I read it - but I think it was in Bike Biz News this morning. Man, that is some righteous bucks!!!
Yep, future - the owners of procycling mag among other holdings - bought cyclingnews for beaucoup euros:
http://www.bikebiz.com/news/27888/Future-buys-Cyclingnewscom
Future bought cyclingnews.com? Oh no. They're a mega-corp. Two years ago they were buying up all the guitar magazines they could get their hands on, including two I wrote for occasionally. This spring, they killed 'em both off. Let's hope they don't do the same to cyclingnews.
Weird -- I used to be an editor at one of Future's US print magazines (actually, it was Imagine then, spun off from the UK company Future, but Future bought back Imagine and renamed it... Future). They did do a decent job with some mags, with hands-off management and the idea that if you put people who are serious about a topic in a room together, something will happen. But yes, they have made mistakes and scarfed up and then digested poorly some titles. But Future also runs ProCycling, Cycling Plus and others (http://www.futurenet.com/futureonline/websites.asp) that seem to be okay.
Agreed, though, that we all wish they'd do little to change CN other than give it more resources and reach.
Mikey is the best announcer for sure, of course stupid. He also is the best singer, song writer, and actress too.
I am going to the race just to listen to him announce.
duh!
You'll not have time for the portos, cuz you'll be slingin' $2500+ in primes. And as for "colored", Carrera is blind, my man. We give cowbells to anyone.
wow how can I pass on that party, san rafael here we come with a stop in Sonoma...
