Random questions jangling and then the slap ~

  1. good lord i love the kid, but doesn't Soler look like a lanky-ass cookarocha on his bike? I mean, the sloping, angular helmet ... the buggy sunglasses, the hunched shoulders and gangly appendages sprouting in every direction...

maybe we need to nominate him for some kind of "pro-cyclist super-makeover" reality show? Him and any former eastern block rider that attempts to sport a mullet and/or Wiggins chops.

  2. what was up with Millar and that sun-allergy bit? did you see how much sunscreen that cat was wearing? jayzus ... talk about your walking Noxema billboard.

You've got to wonder ... why now? What's different about this tour than the others he's done? I mean, you can't get much more exposed and sun-baked than the Vuelta in late summer, fer chrissakes.

is there EPO with a UV rating he's missing out on nowadawys?

  3. why do i always get the horniest for her when that time of the month arrives?

    annoyingly weird.

  4. Rabobank ... could you get any more "this is my job" than these guys?

It seems abundantly clear that these boys don't need to like each other to do their jobs. And they are doing their job exceptionally well. That kid-in-need-of-hairnet Dekker is a one-man choochoo train. And, it was rather impressive the way that Menchov exploded after getting Bawkabawk to the base of the Au'beast today.

but ... you just don't imagine there are many post stage high-5s and "woo-hoos!" in the team bus with these fellers.

all business. mercenaries. diamond merchants. conquerors.

  5. OH, FOR FUKS SAKE?

Now Rasmussen and the Raboroids have been pulled form the Tour, as well.

    Circus? Rock-bottom? whateva.

i've got work to do.

maybe they pulled him from the tour for just one too many annoying little waves at the camera crew this morning.

i mean, honestly...

i can see him now.

"Well it's either me, or the TV cameras! You'll have to choose!"

poor guy. he didn't stand a chance.

So, now Levi's on the podium?

He could have had a stage win today if the chicken has flown a bit sooner.

Doesn't get any better than this. The imploding, soap opera can't sustain itself. How many pro teams will be around next year.

Millar, pastey brit, that's all.

But the fucker played the system, and screwed the sport. He screwed his team too, which sucks given what they did for him.

WarrenG said...

When the Tour director said yesterday that chicken legs was not wanted in the race I wondered if maybe someone with more influence would go to him before the stage today and say, you know, if you were to "crack" and lose 3 minutes today no one would be surprised, and since we know that you intentionally missed the drug tests, you need a graceful exit.

As I watched the last climb today I kept wondering if he'd crack, but instead we got to watch two guys, Levi and Cadel who I know with 90+% certainty (based on inside information) to be clean, trying to overcome the cheater. It was sad to see the cheater with his hands in the air at the end of the day that these guys had known for more than a month would likely decide the Tour.

But now there is some justice and two guys who race clean have made the podium. It reminds me of how Bobby Julich got there years ago, clean, and with the same coach then that Levi has now. And Cadel is still working with people from the Mapei Cycling Center where Max and others were constantly telling the riders that great results can come without doping. It is nice to see some more confirmation of that at the highest level of the sport.

did Levi get popped for something back in the US scene of the late 90s?

or was that ugly rumor...

dr-nitro said...

Rabobank is not pulling the rest of their riders. Which I think is good, given what they gave up for the Chicken. That said, the team should not have let this get to this point.

What sucks is that the race would have been different if he did not start. Oh well. Argh. Time to meet a student and get this shit out of my head.

3. fertility?

WarrenG said...

I don't know about Levi in the late 90's. I do know about things since Fall of 2004 when he started working with Max.

2. Some med's make you sensitive to the sun.

3. Want what you can't have?

4. It didn't look like Menchov was digging extra deep for his "leader".

dr-nitro said...

You know, Evans is the most screwed by this. The Chicken's presence probably helped Contador gain some time on him. Not that I am an Evans fan (helium voice just does not do it for me), but that really does suck for him. Of course, there is a fair chance that he will take the yellow after Saturday. Now, I really have to go.

Warren, you better be getting a reach around.....

Levi, podium. Take a bow.

Here's the question:

Is one's heart as broken upon hearing Rasmussen is out as it was when it learned of Vino's exit?

And:

When Mr. Armstrong came in and showed how much money was at stake, how did that affect the mindset? Did they hunker down? Take stock? Calculate risk?

shawndoggy said...

What could possibly happen now that would surprise you?

Dick Pound is a porn star?

Levi is Tyler's chimera?

I'd sure hate to be working at ASO right now... what a poop storm.

cookarocha ain't any worse looking than Mancebo a few years back = Crab

oh, but crab was suspended too.

waving off the motorcycles and cameras this morning...that made me giggle

WarrenG said...

Thanks J-Donk. I merely support those who don't believe in doping despite huge pressure year after year to do so. Maybe you think that's not to be supported.

Boots said...

Yah Levi was popped in the 90s for stuff. At the time, he was training here in Fresno and had been known to fly into fits of unpredictable rage.

I think he's undergone a fundamental change tho and is a pretty health-nut kind of guy. I think the wife has curbed a lot of that.

jAndy donka-donk said...

for some reason I knew you wouldn't laugh....

I hope Levi is clean, but I am not holding my breath for anyone in the top 20 this year...

Anonymous said...

Yeah Levi is clean, just like Armstrong.

3. Pheromones, chocolate and a little bit of extra fire in the moods?

Anonymous said...

Levi pre-Saturn or thereabouts. High T/E levels, if I remember correctly. I was racing then, and still am now.

Once a cheat, always a cheat. You are stuck with that label. It was his choice. Live with it.

Brent said...

Didn't Contador ride with Saiz as manager for Liberty Seguros when Heras tested posi??

Levi's clean? With his history.. I just can't bite the hook again, I lost faith in him long ago.

X Bunny said...

3. higher androgen levels during this time of her cycle--makes her hornier too--and yes, then the pheromenones affect you

really.

i wouldn't make this stuff up...

I did some things in college I wouldn't do now.

And you should never drink party punch supplied by a pharmacy major.

Kevin said...

Everybody else has it wrong. Levi won Crit nationals and got popped for taking an allergy drug that had ephedrine in it.

He said that the the allergy drug he normally took had two versions, one with ephedrine and one without. Normally of course he took the one without. In this case he accidently bought the wrong one.

He got his championship taken away.

Soler need some nice grills. Maybe bleach the hair....the rest of them need detox. I was kind of suspicious when Rasmussen just put 26 odd seconds into Levi and Contador in 700 meters. Who says dope don't make no difference ?

banks said...

I'm so fucking confused. I want to be angry at someone, but who?

The riders? If one dopes then the rest have to dope is almost an understandable rationale.

The teams? Sponsors demand guys who can win. If winners dope, then teams need dopers. (side note: Rabbobank just pecked every last bit of meat off the chicken's bones then sacked him -- fuckers)

The organizers? When riders make it look easy to sprint up HCs one after another organizers make the course more rigourous. Seems logical.

The fans? Sure has been great watching TV coverage of superhuman feats that make me want to train harder.

Fuck it all. I'm signing up for cello lessons.

Be angry at your self. then masterbate real hard - you'll feel better.

dr-nitro said...

Would like that be like make up sex?

dr-nitro said...

Banks, I have to agree that Rabobank is somewhat culpable here, the team organization, not the riders. They should keep track of their riders, and they should not have let him start the Tour under these conditions. However, they were blinded by the thought that he would be bringing them results.

Anonymous said...

more like a hate fuk.

just remember me and Nome Agusta told you all how it was going to go down, even if it went down differently then we told you, but had the same outcome.

dr-nitro said...

Okay, along the lines of point 1, what is wrong with your Columbian cousin, Mike? He apparently signed up for 2 more years with Barloworld?

Okay, I've won the polka dot jersey in the Tour. I've won a Tour stage. I've finished top 10 in the Tour. I want to stay on a Continental pro team that has to beg to get into the big races? Yay for team loyalty?

banks said...

Yep, my comment does boil down to me sticking my finger in the wind with one hand and flagelating myself with the other. Nice wake up call anon.

About Millars' allergy. Some allergies are acquired, it just happens to you. One day you don't have it, next day bingo.
Hope it works out well for him
