steveO did a great job, again, as usual. Taz smashed up the miss-n-out leaving nothing to chance, but in the points race i think he didn't quite know about the "sit up, swing uptrack" after a sprint and got his front wheel taken out. he left skidmarks all the way down the track into the puddle, and when he didn't jump up straight away i ran over in a hurry. he took a good lump on the temple and was very out of it. cuncussed, asking the same question a thousand times, etc. not very nice to see but he snapped out of it enough to remember his address nd so the paramedics released him. Steve pressed the issue though, rightly, and drove him to valley and then home.
I am very happy to have helped. As Ben said the most alarming thing was his short memory and the blow on the temple. He was out cold. Scary cold.
Ben and others helped to bring him around out of the scary stuff.
Valley Medical once again took care of one of our boys. Props to them. They did not fuk around. As soon as I told them what happened they rushed him to trauma - did not fill out forms.
Anyway, I can not wait til Dan is fully healed so I can start heckling him and telling the stories. :)
I am just glad that by the time he got in my car he stopped asking the same questions over and over... ;)
He did say that he did not want to end up on somebodies blog.... Ha!
He was thinking clearly, but I am certain he forgot he said it - the first time anyway... wait til I tell you the chocolate brain story - that will be in private though.
It was pretty scary to see him lying down in the water and breathing like he was hyperventilating, and then a big relief to see him sit up. He really clocked his noggin'.
The most common cause of crashes at the track is people not looking beside or behind them and moving up/down track after/during a sprint/effort, and then knocking over the people next to them. One isn't finished until every one gets off the track safely.
Nice pic Olaf. Thank god for the helmet, I think I would have split open my skull otherwise. I hope this is a lesson learned for me, even though I don't remember it. ;) That track just got more motivating to me. It owes me now!

Good to read here that he's doing alright today.
Not sure how it went down. He was on my wheel when it happened. I went uptrack after finishing the straight and I just heard him tumbling.
Did he perhaps stop pedalling?
