the tide is red

Aldag to confess?

i'll admit it ... i like seeing the Telekom guys coming forward and admitting they cheated.

He's one of the heroes ... one of the hardest men ever to pedal a bike. If that fukker needed to dope to make it, how in the hell could anyone else not?

i hope Aldag comes clean and admits to it all ... calls it systematic and names names. But he won't ... because it would kill the TMobile of today. I hope the boys in pink ride clean now ... but, how can anyone say?

All i know is ... there is a release of guilt purging through the EuroRanks right now. The culture of secrecy is getting knocked around a bit ... and a culture of cool to be clean is fighting its way out of the sand.

we'll see how long that lasts.

even better was the hint that Zabel was his roomie.....

I wonder how many Docs were fired over his huge collection of 2nd places with no wins over the final years.....

My hero's are the riders that didn't make the tour, only get selected for the lower categorized races and place just outside of the top ten....

Those are the real hero's that barely make a living before they have no choice but to retire and work for their families roofing biz back home, because they wont dope but would have been baddd asss if they did........

A buddy told me about the book and the big article in Der Spiegle, according to the former soigneur Jef D'Hont apparently no-one was "clean" but Jan and Zabel used by far the least.

Not many people in the US know about the German magazine Spiegle that is often quoted in many cycling gossip stories, but FYI it is the American equal of the National Enquirer or STAR magazine, not a very reliable source of information.

Thx for posting the Kat Carroll link. Enjoyed the read.

katharine carroll, hmmm.....I think I know that name....nice to read cycling stories along those lines these days! Anyone want to join us for a trip to Nashville for the HOW100?

Huh, actually my buddy was translating parts of it from the Der Spiegle article-- he's not a big cycling fan but knew I was and told me about the article. I think the book alone gets the guy automatic legal proceedings in Germany; pretty strong accusations. Pretty much insane, makes me think it's impossible that anyone in the ProTour is clean.

Um, actually, Der Spiegel is a pretty respected publication on par with, for example, The Economist. The German publication similar to National Enquirer and STAR would be Das Bild.
