other biking matters ...

Poor Contador ... 24 years old, wins Paris-Nice ~ and already they're dropping the Indurain comparisons down. But it was one hell of a ride put in by the new Disco recruit.

let's hope he doesn't go bad like the Mayo.

Still, I like reading Barry's account of how Disco changed the day that Bruyneel showed up:

The race changed the moment he arrived: the whole team was in the front, attacking hard and driving the pace. They rode impressively well and dominated the field, while winning two stages.

It's amazing how morale changes legs. (bye bye Danielson)

It's a damn shame the women's crit at Visalia had that lap card glitch. Can you believe the feelings Colavita's Mackenzie Dickey must have had percolating in her after she was told there were 2 more laps after she had just field sprinted with the rest of them?

oy, that's a bummer.

but, it's bike racing.

So, instead of Colavita/Sutter Homes having their first big win of the season, the prize finally went to TMobile's de Goede. Anyone who has seen her these past few weekends ... throwing herself out of the pack any chance she could get ... knew it was just a matter of time before she nailed the big one. And, winning a $10k crit?

yeah, that's big enough for March.

... but honey, we gotta talk about the victory salute ...

oy.

I'm pretty sure she was making fun of Mackenzie for doing a big celebration while the race was still going on. Her dance was mockingly similar.

In my experience, keeping the lid on and returning the jar to the refrigerator in a timely manor will keep the Mayo from going bad. Keeping Contador away from Manolo Saiz might be helpful. Cheers, swiggboss.

i knew i could count on the Swiggboss to take the sour out of that pun.

Saiz ... that dude should be flogged. But, he did have riders loyal to him, didn't he.

like any good dealer would.
