me = basket case
kitty got snipped today.
there is no way i'm strong enough to have kids. Emma is barely able to walk and it's putting me over the edge. she's so drugged up that she topples over every three steps ... but, she kept getting up to walk so i had to just follow her one time to figure out what was going on.
step, step, totter, fall.
step, step, fall.
she trudged on and it was killing me. she finally turned into the den and i realized where she wanted to go.
... through the drugs, through the obvious pain still racking her body ... she pushed herself to make it to the litter box.
oh ~what a brave little kitty! i helped her into her box and she just kind of hovered in it, shaking a little bit .. and finally, a little dribble of pee dropped into the litter.
she just stood there afterwards, for a good minute. i think she fell asleep.
finally i tried to gently take her out of the box and put her back in a safe, warm place to recoop. poor little thing.

Is this what they mean by P-whipped?

She'll be fine. Pet her little head, let her sleep, and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Cus when she wakes up tomorrow she's gonna be PISSED!
kitties are resiliant. her pain will be all gone in a day or two. she probably thought she had to pee because of the pain in that region.
i think 'snipping' refers to what they do to boy cats
it's a little bit more than that for poor little emma
but you are good kitty-parents
i don't think you guys understand the trauma of this whole episode.
... i'm telling you - basket case!!!
relax, dad
she is going to be just fine
with our pets' many medical procedures, i often found that all i could do afterwards was keep them company
i think that helped us both
dude, I've been snipped -- I totally understand! and julie was snipped, too! she did really well -- never needed her pain meds and was jumping back up on the furniture the next day. just snuggle her (emma) and relax.
maybe you should try taking her pain meds...
Whats making it hard for him is that Emma doesn't want company. She doesn't want to be pet or comforted. She is being very cat like and she just wants to be away from everyone and alone.
And she hissed at him.
poor oV...
If they used ketamine she's probably having the most trouble with the after-effects of the drug. If they used torb she's probably just a little woozy & sore.
Snipping is more of a boy-kitty thing -- you can do them over the kitchen sink, but the girl-kitty operation isn't incredibly invasive all things considered. The incision is tiny & the procedure only takes about 15 minutes.
I'm sure that doesn't help, though -- hang in there (and make sure you have kitty treats on hand when she comes out of it)!
VERY TRAUMATIC!
DRAMA QUEEN!
DQ for a day.
now, where have I seen that before?
ov, give emma some time to recover...she'll thank you
it's tough but she will be back in no time...
drama queen - LOL!
she'll show you how much she loves you tomorrow with the extra bites she gives your ankles
but he's the cutest drama queen ever
Dude, I understand! Monster got, uh, tutored last week, I was a disaster! And once he felt better, it was lots of extra chewage for me... He knew I did something, he wasn't sure what, but he wasn't happy about whatever it was!
no kitty update?!?!!
some of us were concerned...
My "kid" recovered like a champ... but seeing her getting injured was scawwiee. It also helps when the vet is a hottie. (..just sayin')
we feel your pain OV and Emma's...
our little daisy got snipped too...her nether regions were attracting too may hanger's on...she was out of sorts for a day and would not play with the pink fluffy toy that she always digs...very traumatic!
I am just going to buy tank condoms.......
I keep thinking "what if my parents cut off my sack so that I wouldnt play with myself so much"
I have another month to talk myself into it...
Junkadonk, Are you doing one-handed pushups yet?
This post is sooo fem.
Awwww, poor baby!!! Glad she made it through okay.
I've been a certified veterinary technician for, hmmmmm, 10 years now and I still get uber freaked out nervous when my kids go under anesthesia.
