it must be the genes

so, Levi has opened up the Dauphine with GC can with a solid ride up Ventoux.

But, I'm thinking Menchov is going to be a real threat at this year's Tour.  For the past couple years he's been knockin' around the top 5 ... and he's got the whole package.  TT ... yup.  Climbing ... yup.  Flappy-Euro-Mullet?  oh yeah, baby.

OK, it's time to get serious about our bikey-geek Tour predictions.  Ippoc has already thrown down the gauntlet with a Basso, Kaiser, KidRock podium shot ... what's your pick?

me?

I'm goin' with Ullrich, Menchov, Valverde.

... secretly, of course, hoping il Basso conquers all.

lovely lil' vixen that he is.

actualy for third I was thinking of Mancebo also, but then I went with the 98 podium pattern, can I have two thirds? I really thought of Vino for third too, three thirds, but I do think he may not be riding...

Yeah, Mancebo seems like a nice guy and his riding style is so crazy, it seemed like a fun choice. I don't really know if his team has the power to get him up there though. Floyd might be a better choice, just because Phonak has a lot of experience keeping their guy in the lead this year.

i predict that the entire peloton will be arrested during a midnight raid...

the next day the tour organizers will stick pro jerseys on the people who are there on the Steve Bauer tour group ride, and have them complete the race.

so the winner will be some Time Warner Corporate Executive who has been training all year to "do the tour"....
