the day runs long

i look back on my life and think of all the stupid things done ~ all the selfish acts, the words thrown like bricks, the indulgences, the laziness, the obsessions, the trivial hates ...

and sometimes it overwhelms.

But then ~ i think about the moments of courage I have witnessed, the acts of generosity, the beautiful creations ...

i remember ... and i draw strength from them.

thank you all.

It is a hard thing to throw yourself out there into the winds ~ to be seen and judged. It is a hard thing to allow yourself to be tested. Because we might fail. And our society turns a hard eye on failure, don't it.

but ... courage is shown by those who stick themselves out anyway.

~

word.

Break the rules
break the stereotypes
break the limits of what you think you must do
and who you think you must be.

and though the path is difficult,
and often jagged ...

there are rewards.

All of you, are good people.

If you'll let me draw off of one of my favorites:

"It is not the critic who counts, Not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to those people who are actually in the arena... who know the great enthusiasms, the great devotions to a worthy cause; who, at best, know the triumph of high achievement; and who, at worst, fail while daring greatly, so that their place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat." --Teddy Roosevelt
