here it is ...

Points Race finals for the women...

and i don't have a cell for any txts that Nicola will send with insta-updates.

dammit.

but, i'm hovering over FixedGearFever for their coverage. I think Shelley has missed out on scoring for the first two sprints. She was heavily marked in the Scratch race yesterday ... i hope she's got her thinking cap on for today ... it's gonna be bloody out there.

Men's Points Race later tonite ... BJM, maybe Palaez, and Halloway advanced from what i saw. Faster fields all around than last year's Elites.

Bri is being chased down by Heather Albert. This could work.

Kovac and Albert wont work ... well, Albert wont. Kovac sits up.

This is really quite a good display of how to race a points race negatively.

shelley 5th!!!! podium shot coming, sorry too excited to text. Tough tough race, shelley got a bit worked by Quinn & team mates, notably neva day who came down hard on shelley, pushed her into blue.more soon

be sure to tell Shelley how proud we all are.

thanks for the updates, Nikki.

btw ... how stupid does the idiot who kept whining about 'no team tactics' at track races feel.

at this year's natz ... it was ALL team tactics. Rock'nRepubes, SBW, Slipstream ... they ganged it and came out on top.

well, except for those pile'o RnRs.

And most those teams you mentioned, there tactics did not work. Fast forward to a World Cup and there will be no teammates.

You are the rookie expert calling people idiots? Bwah-ha-ha-ha!

Go check the mirror Mr. Merckx.

norcalcyclingnews.com said...

uh ... hello?

Creed killing it for Friedman. RandR did everything right for Bahooti but he did his typical blow.

and SBW did shut down everyone for their girl.

i think you've got head-up-ass syndrome.

and who gives a shit about drugged up World Cups? teamwork AIN'T whats missing there ... it's the doctor's program.

oh, and come try and find my wheel in some race, expert. tell me rookie as you get dropped.

I'd rather put you in the wall. Hard.

Christ Hernando, stop thinking everybody is on drugs. There are many riders out there who are great without "artificial enhancements" (like your hero BJM). Don't pass judgement until you are actually racing with the big boys (and I'm not talking just Cali NRC races).

Go ahead and talk smack about Rock racing too. It's not like they have done anything for the sport. Let's see...
1. A new cycling team..always good
2. Pay their riders much more than any other domestic team
3. Can you say Health and Dental Insurance (how many D3 teams do that)
4. Sponsor big races like Manhattan Beach and World Criterium Championships etc.

I keep hearing about how this team isn't great for cycling, but I have seen more kids than ever before want to race just from watching Rock Racing.

And Bahati... talk all the smack you want.

About how he does cycling clinics for inner city kids and all the other cycling clinics in socal

How he is a major supporter of the Major Taylor Foundation

How he has taken kids like Justin Williams and myself under his wing

how he convinced Michael Ball to not only take on a whole bunch of new young unproven riders, but also allow them to prove themselves over time by signing two year contracts.

I'm sure you're right, there are people out there doing drugs, but I guarantee you its not as widespread as you may think. Take it from soemone ACTUALLY racing in the pro ranks. AT least in The good ol' US of A. Europe is a whole different issue.

That being said, I still like you. Keep voicing your opinions. Keep supporting local cycling. I'm just having a crappy day and sometimes I like to vent.

i am talking about drugs in the euro-scene, Adam.

and, bully for RnR.

of course there's good coming out of the program. and there's bad, in my opinion.

i suppose it's me venting about all those stupid gas-guzzling vehicles they flaunt all over place. or the crass sexism of their crit race in Vegas. or the sitting on...

but whatever. keep digging out there Adam. and try to keep in touch with the little people while your ACTUALLY racing pro.

ouch, sitting on huh? Bringing back ex posts. NICE

By the way, no offense, this is all in good fun and sometimes I just like to play the devils advocate

I hope you get a chance to go to the World Cup in LA next January. I don't know who's on what but those guys can really ride their bikes. Chris Hoy's starts, team sprints... Their match sprints are really something to see. I've learned some tactics by watching them, and two guys sharing the sprinters lane going shoulder to shoulder at 42mph isn't about doping.

where's sarah hammer at natz? why isn't she racing?seems weird to me.

Team TWENTY12 said...

The Hammer raced on a men's pursuit team and will likely race womens pursuit today, she is peaking for world cup races - obviously high priority for olympics, she also was supporting Dotsie (who is coached by Sarah's beau)

shelley races pursuit today
McCook & Holloway - madison

Check out this article, Vanderhoot. I wont say I agree with everything he says, but he's certainly on the right track.

"Check out this article, Vanderhoot. I wont say I agree with everything he says, but he's certainly on the right track."

I find that article hilarious since the Navigators have hired a bunch of dopers - o'bee, davidenko etc.......

Anonymous said...

How about actually reading the article next time. Yes, Kirk did test positive for an elevated T/E Ratio and Davidenko tested positive for 19-norandrosterone. Lets also remember that some of the most respected U.S cyclists still racing have tested positive before (i.e Scott Moniger and Amber Neben).

The article is saying that there aren't dopers in the peloton, because there are. What it is trying to say is that we should abide by the saying "innoncent until proven guilty".

I especially agree with this point
"There should not be ANY public disclosure until a definitive finding is made, and the ADAs MUST be made to allow an open door for their “tribunal” hearings and allow for the presentation of evidence of extenuating circumstances. Currently, the case has to go before an arbitration board (the 4th step in the process) before the athlete’s voice is even heard."

However, there are points I also disagree on. I'm all for invading the privacy of cyclists, it's pretty much part of our contractual obligation. Yes, there are flaws with USADA and WADA (Can you say no drug testing at Toona??) but there are also good things that they do that people not on the highest level don't realize.

Example: Random testing is not random. Ha. USADA does know what they were doing. When I was at the U23 house in Belgium, WADA came to test a "random" rider five times. Every time, it would be Tyler Farrar (now riding for Cofidis). Or at Superweek this year, one of our riders, Kayle LeoGrande, was on the random test list five days in a row. The only thing that might be missing is rider input on who gets tested.

Anyways, I could go on for days. Just read the whole article next time.

could this be cuz leogrande's A sample came back positive for epo at downers grove in 2006? he has a rep as a user and dealer. hopefully for the sake of your team sponsor he has cleaned up his act.

Kayle has not once this year tested positive, and he has been the most tested cyclist on out team (20+ times). I cannot speak for 2006 because I was not there and did not know him, but I can guarantee you (mostly because I was the one who roomed with him at most races) that Kayle is clean and that he trains harder than any other cyclist on the team. His results this year come from dedication and his determination to succeed.

Either way, I'm ending my blog posts about this because I shouldn't have to defend my teammates.

Why are you anon by the way? What are you afraid of
