Real Work ~
Brooke Miller nabbed a nifty 2nd on the first stage of the French Tour Cycliste Féminin International Ardèche. Have to say, i'm a huge fan of this new US Cycling Women's Development Team push into European racing ... just a great way to help grow the sport.
US National Team
25 Miller Brooke (USA)
26 Katheryn Curi (USA)
27 Allison Powers (USA)
28 Christina Ruiter (USA)
29 Katherine Carroll (USA)
I wonder if USA Cycling gives any money to that endeavor? Did you know that Amber Neben donated her Redland's winnings to the program?
doin' it right.

Keeping it Frish ~
This kid is one my favorite reads nowadays. Will Frishky gives us some authentic and original thought in his ocassional spreads on the VelosNewz.
He's finishing off the season with Missouri and I'll be following anything else he puts to keyboard then, and there after.
solid.

Speaking of Season Enders ~
Mas Chico Mas ... the Chico race weekend is almost upon us. Sabine and I are going nutz at our friends, Tony and Crysta's wedding ... otherwise, we'd be all over this thing.
Chico is such a great place to ride. One of my favorite rides ever was doing the Chico Century a few years back. Good times.

speaking of Frishky ... Nicola sends me this:
Tour of Missery
"In the truth is stranger than fiction department, we’ve just gotten word that there was a significant pile-up at mile 3 that was caused in part by a wayward armadillo. Among those hitting the deck was Missouri native Dan Schmatz who has been reported as an abandon. One racer who saw the incident said Schmatz actually hit the oversized rodent. Wow...
…included Slipstream’s Will Frischkorn and Danny Pate, Canadian Svein Tuft, Kodak’s Jesse Anthony and Schmatz’s BMC teammate Jonathan Garcia." dan on his way to hospital
oh, that just sucks.
wasn't Schmatz the guy who played the hero in real life just a month or two ago?
talk about an argument against the notion of karma...
stupid rodents.
Armored rodents are the new H2...
Brooke won stage 3 and Kat is obliterating the sprinters competition (she won all the stage 3 race sprints)! Brooke has a mini-write-up on her blog.
wow!
ok, that is impressive. can't wait to hear more details of that race.
Hey, you two are always always welcome here in Chico - just come here whenever! And you always have a place to stay at the CC house.
Thats great for Brooke!
im pretty stoked to see a jr velo bella (although a belgian) that we took with us on the road last year sitting 9th place in GC after 4 stages. Shes solid all around.
