f'ing clock ...
- - -

  1. Got in my Mt. Hood training yesterday.

After the teeth were kicked in by kids and women during the lunch'ervals session, i decided to ride over the sCruzian hills to San Jose after work and watch my woman put watts down in their training crit.

googled up a map, did a bit of handdrawing on a napkin of a route that looked like it might squirm over the climbey roads of the Big Basin and Creeky Boulders ... somehow dropping down near GatoSaratogaLosWherever eventually.

ended up getting lost, rained on, and my whiney ass frozen like a spandexicle.

i am now an official fan of cellular phones ... cuz it saved my ass. (please say they ain't killin' the bees)

  2. heckled ... me?

pedaling squares up the finish of Berzerkely Hills ... tank on the "F/U" and eyeballs blurry with CO2 poisoning ~ on the opposite side of the road is gawdamn Healthnut RKillit spritely and merrymaking in his prettified proboy glory.

he's chirpy and dancing on his pedals, taunting my labored, sideways, 3mph sprint with a bit of the "where's your blog now, vanderpoop."

    pretty much kicked ass.
    heckling rules.

  3. This weekend is the Kern Classic, baby.

TyTy, Jeffe, and I are getting our grooves together in preparation of offering copious amounts of manmeat to any and all within striking distance. The margaritas will flow like wine and the virgin hills of Bakersfield won't know what hit 'em.

Kern is a ridiculously hard stage race. The format this year looks to be an improvement and slightly more sane than last year ... and the weather might not be quite as sweltering as '06 ... but, it's still going to be epic.

With MissMary on the food patrol and us boys working feeds and party favors ... we'll probably be able to service all the women racers.

    mmm ... servicing the women.

  4. Check out the TOTO TURNING.

    so choice.

glad you getting ready for hood..i've been sick since getting back. off the bike for 10 days+sick=pain ..oh well should be good for trainin..not many proz goin for the nrc points this year at hood.

hope there is a good turn out at kern as it seems like the chicks races are getting lighter with all cats.

doh, i think the sickness has feebled your noggin, hootch.

there's a fair bit of horsepower this year at Hoodie. More than in recent memory. Toyota, HNut, the FFruita boys ain't bad, full Navigators squad, the Rio Grande boys can pedal, CalGiant & BPG (as always), and them Hagens Berman fellas can throw in attacks, too.

naw, i think it'll be a good Hood this year ... full of high tempo and swashbuckling.

and the women's racing in NorCal has been good in numbers this year. I think it might be a very big turnout for Kern, too. But Madera was impressive in the numbers they had show up, not to mention the big fields at the classics like Snelling, Merco, etc.

true, there have been the odd small field ... but, there might have been other factors involved.

That's a burn.

I love being serviced!

See you all on Friday!

Woohoo to cooler temps, though I think I actually do better when the elements are a factor. Not so sure I like to new format...

i can't wait for Kern! Sounds like a torturefest...but a fun one! Sounds like the guys make it more fun, too! I've never been to an all-women's race. Can't wait to meet some of you nor-cal racers! I convinced one of my teammates to come...so there will be two of us in the funky green...
