yes, this post is enough to bring me out of lurkerdom. I saw the whole race, it was a thing of beauty. Rarely have I seen a race ridden so well... WAY TO BE TAZ!!!
How about a report? My team mate flaked and decided not to go, so I could not get myself to drive 6 hours round trip for a twenty mile race. And of course I am some what regretful of that decision.
Funny, cuz Dan and Jill are the same kind of riders. Both incredibly strong...maybe even not knowing how strong. And both having to learn patience so they can unleash that strength when it is most effective.
Field Sprint! But weird one. The group shattered to a handfull on the final climb. Going into the sprint there was a lapped rider on the inside of the FINAL F'ing turn as the lead was coming through. This caused the small lead group to mushroom and hesitate while a few (dan included) got a clear run. Dan rode a smart race and rarely pu his nose in the wind.
The officials should have pulled the lappers though. Makes for dangerous conditions. But when you pay $40....
Mens Pro - Sayers was going for the sprint and Dan just took it from him, it was awesome for Safeway - he was by himself! Webcor attacked and was in front a lot driving an aggressive race.
Taitt took that QOM like she's done it before, oh yeah last year! Webcor (Drum?) took the win and Olds second. Courtney, got third and many premes...so did Patella (4th) and Taitt (top ten, 6th or 7th?). The Value Act ladies animated the race that you just can't stop watching and cheering for them. It was just fun to find out what they will do next! I think they won most of the premes...$$$ - awesome job!
The race started out with Proman leading the pack about 2-3 laps. Olds and Rachel up in front. Olds score a couple of QOM points but that's until Taitt got her little engine hammering and getting points after points - I think she got up that hill 11 times ahead of the group.
At about mid way, Rachel, Martina and Taitt was on a 10-15 seconds break for several laps until the laps dwindled down then Proman led by Olds hammering to catch bring back the break. It was all together after that to the finish. I don't think Proman liked who's in the break...so they realed them back.

More locals done good: rumor has it (via VN and Holly B's blog) that Jill McLaughlin took the Gila crit...

That explains no sprinters in the top 3. Thought it was a break!
What about the W1/2/3? How'd that play out?
A sprint. That makes me a bit less regretful that I did not go. But still...
just to clarify- Taz won the P1/2 (not the 35+), it was quite the geezer showdown!
who won the 35+??

the inside scoop is that taz won the P12 with his saddle bag on his bike
and it was stuffed--including 3 cartridges--one was used.....
M35+: Nolan
Yah Baby! Doesn't get much sweeter than that. I think/fear that I am actually becoming a crit rider. Yikes
