devil jigga good

we're headed down to the frothballs this weekend in sunny satan barbara for some bike ridin' shenanigans ... well, actually the racing is in that brown step-sister of a city, Goleta.

but - what race promoter will pass on a chance to put SB on their flyer.

- - -

anyway ~ i'm psyched we'll be able to get in a nice lump of 60+ degree rides n' races. It's gonna be pure delites.
But ... and i know i shouldn't wish for this ... there are itches to race in the coming mucky windblasted stormers of the spring cali-classics.

mmm ... if only we had cobbles.

You may get something like your cobbles wish on the Copperopolis descent this year!

you know, i thought that repaved section on the climb was waaay harder last year.

it seemed everyone went ballistic as soon as their asses weren't bouncing all over the place.

...

'course, i think the hardest part for our Taz was remembering which way to turn while he was off the front.

them boys sure did get a giggle out of seeing him run wild away from the pack ... in the wrong direction.

Is that race a CBR promoted event?

They are not very strict about letting banned riders race.

you keep the wind
cobbles might be fun....

current intelligence on copper is that it isn't too bad on the descent although some of the flats are pretty chewed

not as bad as last year at all, but a few bad storms could change that drastically

FYI CSC opens training camp in Gilroy tommorow!!! Rumor has it they will be there until the TOC starts!

the words 'intelligence' and 'Copperopois' shouldn't be used in the same sentence...

Nome Agusta needs to take a chill pill. And go talk to Bjarne Riis about hemocrat levels! And banned riders.

And yes CSC is in town for their training camp for 2 1/2 weeks. I am showing them some rides and going over the schedule with their directors, and we will be doing some of the stages of the T.O.C. and then Mt Hamilton, Fremont Peak, and Mt Diablo on other days.

Just talked to Julich and he said he remembers riding with Olaf a few times, but that Hernando was a little too squirly for his tastes on the rides. Seems Olaf was having trouble riding a straight line in the group.

hey, i just noticed in that photo you can see all your tire tracks on the wet pavement behind you.

you know, you WOULD go faster if you rode in a straight line...

nice legs

I dont know this as a fact but I hear Olaf has to ride like that because of his man size brass balls.............

Youd swerve to if you had those things slappin your quads liekk that.

Or so I hear that is.........

i only saw Julich riding one time in Reno (though i did hear he sold some jerseys at the local bike shop ... wonder if he donated the proceeds to local high school cycling like BJM, Wicks, and AJM of their cash winnings at Surf City this year? hmmmm...)

Anyway, i was out for a work-luncher winter ride doing climbs as best as my frozen ass could. Up the hill i see a couple of euro-poofter outfits dawdling along.

the closer i get, the more i see the outfits ... one's greeny-legged Credeete AgriCole .. the other is Cofeedees-colored multi-french.

"good lord" says i, look at these two mail-order champions.

but the closer i get, the thinner they look ... 'hmmm ... those are awful uber-freds.'

and finally, as i ride past them ... "oh."

it was only a few weeks later that i heard Julich had bought hisself a Reno hills home.

now, about donating that jersey money to young cyclists in the region you sell them ...

i can inflate them every once in awhile, but their natural state is more ... granola.

Wait, I think I should stop typing now. :)

Book me an appointment Riis, cause I need to figure out how to get my hemocrat levels up to normal.

BTW: I used the wrong word, I meant suspended, not banned. Sorry.

Olaf

i bought a number of old clothing items off of the jacques maynes and they kept all the change for themselves and didnt give any to any high school league.

just because they did that move at the non cancelled surf city race does not mean they go around raising money for young racers. i know of many more people who do a lot more for high school racing with out doing it to look good on race day and seem so generous and giving. the true heros are the folks who do the behind the scene work and do not stand out in front of the crowd giving a little money one time to make it seem like they are so giving.

infact i want the jaucqes maynes to give my 30$ for their used pair of shorts with the skid marks on it to a poor hungry cyclist somewhere, then i will feel a little better.

norcalcyclingnews.com said...

you said 'skid marks'

Marco Fanelli said...

I'll order up some 70+ degree weather for you on Sunday for Mothballs. Can't do anything about the back-side pavement however. Don't use your lightweight tires.

lightweight tires

what are those?

thanks for the what'up, marco. hope to see you there.

dude id Ben JM could just win a stage of the tour of california you could sell those skid marked cycling shorts on e bay for a pretty penny!

you can say his skid marks left on the cycling chammy were his autograph to you, and the shorts would sell for a little extra.

shoot we could even try to get some of his skid marked tighty whiteys and we could sell those too if he just wins a stage.

Anonymous said...

yeah skid marks from the shorts grinding up his ass as he rides that saddle so well, you know, check your shorts and i am sure you have some olaf marks on your chammy

The disco boys are so stacked, Basso, Danielson, Popovic, and hincapie all doing domestique duties for Leipenheimer, that is a seriuos support group for little Levi!

Hernando maybe you can challenge this group or at least go shopping with them down the safeway isles.
