Anatomy of a time trial ...

arrive to bucolic event location
and gape in wonder at the beauty.

after gaping a good bit, commence 9.2 minute warm-up
because office wankers had to have it done today.

bugger.

get signed in and felt up.
yummy.

syncronize watches with uber-cool
hippie starter.
become extremely indimidated
by massively awesome competition.

I love this guy in three different ways.

yell, goKidgo to this Tripper.
No idea where the Bicycle Trip bike shop is ...
but you can damn well bet i'll spend money there
when i find out.

pedal a little bit.

wave hidy-ho to mattywabbit.
he is sooo fukin hot.

chatty-chat with his girl, Kerlin.
the kerlinator is back, folks.

Another run at cross worlds?
oh yeah, baby.

meow...

talked to Steller at Peet's morning of...
this is why i cross race.

bad-mofo-ass

take care of my injured queenie.
she done got attacked by some evil railroaders.

bastards!

Bicycle Trip shop in Santa Cruz is the coolest shop ever! They hosted the Sugoi Dirt Series womens mountain bike camp, and they treated us like rockstars. They tuned our bikes, loaned out their gear, let us party at their shop, and shuttled us to demo forest. They are super nice bike people!

Word. The Bike Trip is a great shop. Velo Bella Jen C. works there. And Steve the head wrench is super cool.

Sounds like you came dangerously close to doing a group ride.

I'm glad you went off one at a time or your record would be tarnished.

hope the TT went ok - that sounds like our Wed night race ride. 5 min w/up then someone hits it all out and the leggies start screamin.... hey wtf

Here's a good one... if you all ever have a bad race its really not all that bad compared to this guy

i can't wait to see Gin chopshop a mullet on this mugshot.

Velo Bella said...

a mullet wouldn't look nearly as silly as those ridiculous gumball helmets.

I mean, I didn't even have to photoshop this

norcalcyclingnews.com said...

then i wouldn't look nearly as threatening.

you'd be sooo white-trash-chic, though.

Looks like Lord Helmet!

Velo Bella said...

What Lord helmet would have peppy rainbow colors all over it?

Gaylord maybe.

That helmet is a giant gumball.
