Toe day Jo'Jah

From Cyclingnews Live Report: (cause VN can suck my valve stem)

Current race situation
  • Much attacking

le ouch

but wait ... another update:

14:02 EDT 105km/102.4km to go
The gap has increased to 2'20" now. Olson really got this break going and was doing the majority of the work for quite a while to get things established. Now the other three are starting to roll through more and its looking pretty even. Just over 100km left to race.

Current race situation:

Aaron Olson (Prodir-Saunier Duval), Danny Pate (TIAA CREF), Neil Shirley (Jittery Joe's-Zero Gravity) and Jackson Stewart (Kodakgallery.com - Sierra Nevada) Peloton at 2'20"

Looks like Davitamon will be the chasers.

why would davitamon chase...more than Toyota united or health net?

Olaf Vanderhoot said...

because Freddie said they would?

the gap is up to 11 minutes with under 80k to go.

it looks like it will have to be all three of those teams chasing for this thing to be brought back.

wow.

i don't know if Stewart has the endurance to beat Olsen. And Neil just got back from a collarbone crackage a few weeks ago ...

and, it's Bowman in for TCref.

hmmm...i think they might last it and i think Olsen might take it.

Jed said: said...

No way it'll last w/ those finishing circuits.

No way.

jelly's gotta chase too. Bryce Jones and all taht.

Jed said: said...

oh yeah, I'm calling it now.

Haedo takes stage 1.

PAB said...

Safeway ain't there...

hrm. at 9 min now. coming down steadily.

Me likes the bunch sprint...'specially w/ those finishing laps.

Olaf Vanderhoot said...

reckon you're right.

stupid field sprints.

Olaf Vanderhoot said...

here comes Haedo

15:04 EDT
Back in the peloton the Toyota United Team are setting tempo on the front with a bit of help from Davitamon Lotto. Toyota has a very quick sprinter with JJ Haedo who rode so well in the Tour of California winning two stages.

the low down: toyota started chasing when they saw 12 minutes, put it back to 10, but then sat up and called the GC team's bluff.it's up to discovery and phonak to chase back to a reasonable distance, then let the sprinter teams take over.

Toyota took over again when it was 4 minutes or so. right on target.

JB did nothing, jed. not their bag, baby. HNBPM too.

the finishing circuit is really a wild crapshoot, there's no way to line up a team on the macon circuit...same tomorrow in rome too. it's a bunch of hit squads rolling around among a bunch of waxed dudes and tired cref kids.
