His reflections on taking the kiddies to DisneyLand:
"I cannot appropriately relate the range of reactions to what our society has become after this experience (which the kids thoroughly enjoyed, by the way). Large kids, larger dads, extra-large moms squeezing and lined up to wait for 45 minutes to take a 2 minute ride that is either overtly or subtly racist that then dumps out into a shop that assaults you with merchandize from the movie that the ride promotes that the TV show spun-off from that is sponsored by Chevron.
A right of american childhood passage or the beginning inculcation into mass consumerism, herd mentality and overall blandness or just kids having fun?
Good to be back in Reno where one is just faced with depressing second-rateness. I've got to get back on the bike!!"
